College Planning

It's an important time of year for high school seniors- time to really narrow down what your plans will be after graduation in May. For some it will be a college/university, for others it will be straight into the workforce. No matter what path our seniors are taking, now is the time to set some goals, buckle down, and work hard.

For seniors looking at continuing their education at a vocational school, community college, college, or university, during the month of number you should be finalizing your admission applications, researching college scholarships and deadlines, and most importantly, attending Financial Aid Night at your high school. For juniors looking at a post-secondary education, you should be scheduling a time to take the ACT and attending College Planning Night at your high school.

Clay Central/Everly will be providing Juniors and Seniors with the opportunity to attend both a College Planning Night and a Financial Aid Night on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12th at 6:15 p.m. (College Planning) and 7:30 p.m. (Financial Aid). These sessions will be held at the high school, in the multi-purpose room located next to the lunchroom. It is very important for not just the parents to attend, but the students as well. I hope to see many of you there!

A big THANK YOU goes out to the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN) for providing our students and parents with this great learning opportunity!

Yours truly, Mrs. Tessum 7-12 School Counselor
